Who does what on ProClay
Every hat in the app, in plain words: what it lets you do and exactly where to do it. One person often wears several - a parent who scores, a coach who shoots. Scoring is free for every shooter, and so is running a club. The paid plans go further: Pro Shooter keeps your whole history, the Family plan follows your own shooters ($7.99 a month), and the Team plan runs a roster with coaches.
Shooter
Everyone - scoring is free for every shooter, with no card.
- Score every clay game shot by shot - solo or a whole squad from one phone, online or with no signal at all.
- See your average, hit rate and streaks for your current 90-day period, and earn the five basic trophies. Pro Shooter keeps every round, with station heat maps and advanced stats.
- Join clubs, sign up for events and leagues, squad with friends, and climb the boards - joining is always free.
- Keep a gear locker and carry your gun, choke and shell onto every card.
- If a parent asks to follow you on your team, you say yes or no once, for every team you are on, and your coach is told. Remove a linked parent any time; a no is remembered.
Score from the Home tab (Log a round). Find events under My Range, clubs under Social, your numbers under Stats.
Club owner
Whoever runs the club - creating and running one is free, with no limit on shooters.
- Stand up the club: public page, logo, courses, shooters, join requests.
- Appoint scorers from the roster - each appointment is one switch on a shooter, and a scorer can host club events too.
- Add shooters by invitation - they join when they accept, or ask to join and you approve them.
- Host official club events and leagues at $1.50 per entry, each shooter each shoot day - casual scoring always stays free.
- Run the whole shoot day: seating chart, roster, capacity and waitlist, shoot-offs, finalize and award trophies.
Everything lives in My Range > Club. Create events from there; manage the field from each event's page.
Club scorer
A club shooter the owner trusts with the scorebook - flipped on with one switch.
- Score ANY squad at any of the club's events - sit in the scorer chair, tap a squad, score. Squad assignments are organization, not a lock.
- Seal official rounds that count on the club leaderboard and the shooter's record.
- Fix a card after a challenge: pick the shooter, correct the targets and re-seal, within 72 hours of the shoot and before it is finalized - every change is recorded.
- At a club event, paste a roster of kids who have no account yet, seat them in the squads and score them onto the board.
- Host events for the club yourself - you run the events you create, from seating to finalizing.
Once appointed, open the event and tap Score. Corrections: tap a scored squad, pick the shooter, fix the card.
Event scorer & trapper
Anyone the host appoints for ONE event - a parent, a volunteer, a visiting official.
- Score squads at that event exactly like a club scorer - for that event only.
- As a trapper: work one station and score every shooter as they come through; the full cards assemble themselves.
- Assignments to a squad or a station are for organizing the day - any appointed scorer can cover any chair.
The host appoints you on the event page (Scorers). Score from the event's Score door; trappers get their own station queue.
Coach
A coach on a team - the Team plan holder names you, and you need no plan of your own.
- See every athlete on the team: progress station by station, gear included.
- Plan team squads for practice night, hand each squad to a parent to score, keep cards per kid, and find every finished night on Past squads.
- Set up team athletes who have no account yet - their gear too, so their cards carry it - and report on them until the day they claim their own account.
- Export a branded PDF progress report per shooter - the thing you hand a parent.
- Link each kid's parents. For a kid with no account, a parent asks from the team's page and you approve and pick the right kid, or you invite the parent. A kid with their own account says yes or no themselves, and you are told.
- Share one history with a Family parent who syncs the cards they keep for their kid - their cards and yours, seen by both of you.
- Leave notes the kid and their linked parents can read. Your notes start each progress report.
The team lives under My Range, on the Teams segment. Athlete reports and each kid's parents sit right on the team roster.
Parent
Two ways in. Follow your kid on their team - their results are free, and Pro Shooter unlocks the rest. Or the Family plan ($7.99 a month) follows up to 6 shooters you manage yourself.
- Kid has their own ProClay account? Find them under Account links and relationships, or tap I'm their parent on their profile. They say yes or no once, for every team they are on, and can remove you any time.
- Kid has no account? Most team kids do not, and they never show in search. Find their team and ask the coach, who approves and picks your kid.
- Once linked: their results and the team nights they shoot, free. Pro Shooter adds their full stats page, the coach's notes, progress reports and a push when they post a round.
- Track kids who have no phone or account - each gets the same full stats page you get.
- Score them solo or in the squad like any shooter, and keep their gear on file - one family gun, their own choke each, straight out of your gear locker.
- On Family, sync a shooter you already score with their team record, once. Your cards and the coach's become one history you both see. Unsync any time.
- Hand their history over the day they get their own account - one spoken code, everything moves, synced team rounds included.
Find your kid and see your requests under Account links and relationships (on Profile, and on My Range under Teams), or ask from the team's page. Shooters you manage live under My Range, on the Shooters segment; hand-over codes are on each shooter's page and the kid enters it under Claim my scores.
Team athlete
A shooter a coach set up with no sign-up - most of a youth team, day one.
- Be registered, squadded and scored at events like any shooter - boards, trophies and stats included.
- Claim it all later: sign up, enter the coach's code once, and every round, result and trophy moves to your account.
- Stay out of name search until then - search never shows a team kid's name. A parent finds the team instead, and the coach approves them.
Nothing to do until you join: then Profile, Claim my scores, and enter the code your coach reads out.
Tournament host
A host who turns one of their own events into a verified tournament.
- Run scoring through the verified chain - every card is timed, signed and breadcrumbed on the server.
- Work the review queue: confirm, adjust or reject each round, flagged ones first - only confirmed rounds reach the board.
- Check shooters in, close scoring, then finalize and rank the field.
Search Verify rounds in Find anything to open Sanctioned tournaments, then pick one of your events under Harden this event. Squads and shoot-offs stay on the ordinary event page.
Rights are enforced on the server, not just drawn on the screen - a scorer's seal, a coach's dashboard and an athlete's claim all hold even against a modified app. Start free, then see how it all fits together.
